We have some exciting news! Ether 5 have been asked to play at the Long Division Festival in Wakefield this year! You will find us at the Henry Boon’s Venue supporting the likes of Red Riding Quartet, Iron Void, Clown and McDylbot. Ether 5 will be playing the opening slot on Sunday 3rd June at 5:30pm.

Long Division is a city centre festival that takes place in Wakefield. 2012 is it’s second year after a sellout 2011. For more information visit the official website:

Ether 5 to support Iron Void

We are thrilled to announce that Ether 5 are returning to the West Yorkshire music scene! We were planning to hold off a little longer but we have been given an invitation that we can’t refuse.

Our first gig of 2012 will be supporting Iron Void on the 13th May, in Dewsbury.

This will be the second time we have shared a stage with them and witnessed their mighty doom rock!

Here is a new live recording of Ether 5 rehearsing ‘She’ at Black Flag Rehearsal Studios in Cas. Martyn’s done a great job of mixing it and we think it’s worth uploading here! The song was first written and recorded by ‘Child Loses Arm’ in March 2004.

Ether 5 have decided not to disband, but we are concentrating on other projects for a bit – so the next Ether 5 gig won’t be for a while!

Big thanks to everyone who came to support us at the Fox and Newt last night! The money raised went to St George’s Crypt – an organisation which helps homeless people get off the street. We enjoyed covering The Creeks Conspiracy track. The Creeks album can be downloaded for free at www.thecreeks.co.uk!

Ether 5 have a gig at the Fox and Newt in Leeds! We have been asked to fill an hour with our atmospheric shoegazer prog! We are on stage about 9pm sharp.

The term ‘Shoegazer’ was coined by Morrissey back in the day. Apparently he was quite rude about them.

Black Flag Gig Friday 7th Jan

On the 7th January Ether 5 will be playing at DISSENT, a brand new alternative night at the BLACK FLAG in Wakefield. So come down and check out the bands and have a good time there will be top DJs from 11pm. There will be drinks offers and the events are 14+ so everyone is welcome. Tickets for this event are £5 on the door, but you can buy them in advance from Ether 5 for £4.

Recording Session at Loom Studios

Ether 5 are excited about recording two tracks this weekend – Tree of Life and Asphyxiate Me. The recording session will take place at Loom Studios near Morley, Leeds. Ether 5 won a free weekend recording at a recent open day/show case event. Many thanks to Grant Henderson at Loom for this amazing opportunity!

Grant has also recently worked with The Creeks, recording some drums for a track on their debut album out soon.
